You're invited to join me and other Roy H. Park School of Communications alumni for a roundtable event on Wednesday, July 16, hosted by iRobot at their corporate headquarters in Bedford, Massachusetts. This is the latest in our series of roundtables in media innovation hosted by the Park School in various cities, which offer an opportunity for you to learn about trends in our industry and to network with like-minded professionals and IC alumni.
You've probably seen the ads for the little floor-sweeping robots, or you may have one yourself. iRobot creates these -- but they're doing a lot more that has great potential for business communications. The event at iRobot, which focuses on the theme, "Extending Human Presence with Technology," is made possible by our connection with John Latini, Parent '17, a sales and business development executive at iRobot and the father of a sophomore integrated marketing communications student.
The event will include a presentation and discussion, a tour of the on-site robot museum, and a demonstration of iRobot's Ava 500, a video collaboration robot. Additionally, Doug Weisman ’78, Parent '06, chairman of VideoLink, will talk about services and trends in broadcast quality video remotes, and I'll give a brief update on Ithaca College and the Park School. Light snacks will be provided.
